Hiraeeth
Hiraeth (pronounced [heer-eye-th]) is a Welsh concept of longing for home.
Inspired by a two week tent camping trip on the North shore of Lake Superior; I immediately fell in love with the land of my ancestors and had a surprising sense of returning home.
In this oil painting series I explore underlying themes of the sacred feminine; my concerns about climate change; and the significance of ‘place’ to First Nations people.
